The Japan Society of Industrial Machinery Manufacturers (JSIM)

JSIM aims at contributing to the sound development and progress of industrial machinery industry and related sectors, and to the growth of national economy. JSIM seeks to draft and promote the measures to increase the productivity and rationalize production structure in the field of industrial machinery as follows; Mining Machinery, Chemical Machinery, Environment Equipment, Tanks, Laundry & Hydraulic Machinery, Material Handling Machinery, Iron & Steel Manufacturing Machinery, and so on.

JSIM lists among its members some 174 companies in the industrial machinery industry throughout Japan. All are industry leaders, together accounting for 90% of all production machinery orders received in Japan.

JSIM was established on June 17, 1948 by a group of companies, in the industrial machinery industry who sought to build an industrial organization for themselves based on the new realities of the postwar age. The name first chosen was Industial Machinery Association, but on April 22, 1957 its 10th year, the new name, The Japan Society of Industrial Machinery Manufacturers was selected. On July 1, 1967, in honor of its 20th anniversary, the society was reorganized and incorporated.
